Back in Fashion and Shout Lines

I have three blogs, actually. They've all had times of famine. When I stopped posting to my podcast blog (see snr.livejournal.com) and returned to fiction with a view to trying, yet again, to find an agent, I knew I'd have to revive this one, the first one, the blog of blogs that was going to identify me forever as Heather the Writer.

But most people who read this will know that writing is hard before you get published. You have doubts, you may go off the boil, but then you revive. I'd like to think I won't be discouraged this time, no matter what happens, but I am still just a person.

So, shoutlines. I need one. I can visualise my cover:

SHEN
(First Book of)

Sigil - A circle intersected by three horizontal lines and one vertical
Magpie perched on one horizonal line

Then comes this shoutline business at the bottom. I could say, "It's a process." That's utterly true, but would it grab anybody? Will people read that and think, 'How quirky'? Will they wonder what the process is, wonder just enough to open the front cover?

Because Shen is just a version of 'how life is' that I invented. It's a myth, because I love myths, but I think people misuse them by actually believing they happened, which is missing the point. If I put my myth in a novel, I'm hoping there's no danger of that...? Should I use that as a shoutline - "It's a myth"? Umm, not sure.
