Book Two - The Resettlement Cruise?

It's about the Ha - the Chinese who were taken from Earth around 1000 BCE and used to 'seed' another planet. I'm imagining that time moves on, and this new planet has become dangerous or overpopulated or polluted or some combination of those miseries.

A small group of Ha, the super-rich, are able to build a ship to take them on space cruises. They've been travelling together for years, and pretty soon the holidays seem so much better than real life they prefer to live on the ship. They visit other inhabited worlds doing whatever profitable business they can find.

Sounds idyllic, but you can imagine some problems arising. For a start, their gene pool is small. This is why they'll want Cha Cha. But why would Koda, who seemed like a good character to begin with, kidnap her on their behalf?

I don't know yet. Personally, I do think Cha Cha and the Ha need to learn a similar lesson - that you can't make life better just by running away from the things you don't like.

This is the scariest part about a new book - when you have only sketchy ideas and you can't think of the whole, 80,000 word plot in one go. I expect I'll probably start by writing the wrong book, then going back and re-writing the correct one!
