Who Cares About Confined Spaces?

If you read Chapter One when I first posted it, you'd remember the main character moves from a tunnel whose size I don't specify to one that fits only a single person at a time.

It was a hangover from the original 1995 manuscript. Funny how I hang on to bits of text without really taking in what I've said. You won't know this, but the size of tunnels on Udor has no impact whatsoever on the rest of the book.

Given that, and the fact it slows down action in the crucial opening paragraphs, the lightbulb finally went on in my head. Cut it out. Just one of the thousands of little decisions made while editing.

A refreshed version of Chapter One appears in the previous entry. Enjoy.
