Character Tarot Readings - Sesom

I have tried this before. I ask a question about a character and do a tarot reading. Sometimes it brings new insight, and at others it confirms and expands what I already think. I did three last night, but blog readers can be busy people, so I'll share them one at a time.

For Sesom, I got the Nine of Pentacles, reversed. This said so much. Sesom is a professional soldier; he's given up his youth to fight for the survival of his people. And in the midst of that struggle, he was put in suspended animation for a thousand years. Now he's awake again, trying to make sense of it all. Of course, what I've already written about him makes it clear he's unsettled. What this card suggests, in addition, is that Sesom's greatest needs are mundane. He may have saved the lives of hundreds, taken great personal risks, but he's never had time to fall in love. Right now he's having a brief, intense affair with another man. It won't be good for him, because he's picked the wrong person. But it will underline the fact that he's starved for ordinary happiness.
