Miss a Heartbeat

The hardest rewrites in fiction involve pace. Narrative can run too fast or too slow, but it's a tricky call because the reference point is not real life but other fiction.

And it's easy to cut text that seems slow purely because the character change is subtle. I'm only saying it because tomorrow I put a scene BACK into Shen Book One. Challenge - can I insert more drama into what was dialogue in a closed room?
